Most of the brain scans performed at Medserena Upright MRI Centre are for patients with claustrophobia who are unable to complete an examination in a conventional tunnel or bore scanner. Fortunately, because of the unique transverse magnetic field employed by the Upright scanner high quality images of the brain, similar to those made at 1.5T, are possible.
This midline sagittal section demonstrates normal brain anatomy as well as the small pituitary gland. In addition the low lying cerebellar tonsils of a Chiari 1 malformation are beautifully demonstrated. Scanning in the upright position under the influence of gravity can be helpful in assessing such malformations.
Following the Government advice of the current crisis and trying to protect our patients and our staff, the Medserena Upright MRI Centres in London and Manchester will be closed from Thursday 26thMarch until Tuesday 14thApril.
As we continue to navigate through these unique and evolving challenges, Medserena want you to know that we are here for you. Please email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org with any enquiries and we will assist you as soon as possible during the time period mentioned above.
