Medserena Upright MRI Centre would always recommend that you obtain a medical or practitioner referral for your MRI examination.
However, we will accept self referrals from self paying patients where the referral meets our self referral criteria.
Please see our Q&A below to help you decide if self referral is suitable for you:
Any self-pay patient over 18 years of age. We regret that patients funded by the NHS or Medical Insurance are not eligible for self referral. UK residents will need to provide contact details for your GP, or designated Specialist involved in your care, to whom the scan report will be sent.
There are certain conditions that may exclude you from having an MRI and we will check this during the booking process using our normal safety protocols.
Each self referral request is reviewed by our Clinical lead to determine if the requested exam is a scan type that we do offer, and that self referral is suitable.
Please be aware that we do not undertake “Health Screen” MRI exams where there is no specific clinical indication.
Please contact us either using the “Make an Enquiry” button or call us on 020 7370 6003 (for London) or 0161 434 8039 (for Manchester) to discuss your requirements.
The referral or self-referral form may be downloaded from this page and needs to be completed as part of your request and emailed to your preferred Centre, london@trulyopenmri.com or manchester@trulyopenmri.com.
